War Eagle!!

It's a great year to be an Auburn Tiger! We beat out every team for an undefeated season, we are headed for the SEC Championship, and, considering that we are now #1 in the BCS poll, it looks like we might just get to play for a National Championship. That deserves a big "Warrrrrrr Eagle!".

Thanksgiving in VA

Sunday, after everyone else had left, we joined my parents for church and then lunch on the water at Smithfield Station.

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving in Virginia at my parents' house. As always, it was so great to have everyone together. The cousins had quality play time, and we all enjoyed good food and extra good football. Thanksgiving memories to cherish!

Owen's Baptism
November 14th, 2010
Gotta love that spiky "do". . .

While in Atlanta this past weekend, we not only got to help Owen celebrate his 1st birthday, but we also got to be a part of his baptism day. It was quite a special weekend spent with family and friends. We are so thankful for our sweet Owen, and we look forward to watching him grow in the many years to come.
We love you, Owen!

Hot Diggity Dog!

Claire wanted to make sure that I got my picture taken in the classic Varsity hat as well. . .

This past Saturday, we took a little drive to Atlanta for Owen's big birthday/baptism weekend. We happened to arrive in town around lunch time, and reminiscing old football game days, Jeremy and I were in the mood to introduce the girls to the Varsity. It was the perfect way to prepare for Auburn's triumph over Georgia!

Sweet Treat

Love this shot. It captures a simple, sweet moment in life.
Yesterday, we met my friend, Anne, and her three children for an afternoon at the park, picnic lunch, and a walk to the local ice cream store. It was so great to catch a visit with dear friends. If only we could find the time to do it more often!

Big Girl Bed!

Above, Emma (a.k.a. "Snow White") is giving her new bed a try for the first time. Below, you see why this new bed was necessary.
Claire wanted to be the first to tuck Emma in at night. . .
Things got a little rambunctious, but is was sweet all the same.

In the midst of our Halloween chaos, Emma decided that she was done with her crib. We, too, had decided this several weeks earlier, but were slow in actually getting the "big girl bed" set-up. I believe the day Emma crawled out of her bed at nap time, opened her bedroom door, shut it behind her, walked out and put herself in time out, things were officially decided. Her side of the story: "I was crying. I wanted out." From that point on, there was no keeping her in that crib!
One day later, we said a fond farewell to our baby crib and set up the bed that I used as a child. Emma has transitioned very well. She enjoys her new freedom, and, thankfully, after a week of no naps, has decided to return to her old napping ways (for the time being).

Trick or Treat!

What a fun night! Last night, we got together with our friends Laurie and Jeff, and their little one, Allen, for some Halloween fun. The streets were festive with decorations and lots of children traveling door to door in search of candy. The kids had a great time. By the end of the evening, they were worn out!!

The Soccer Season Ends

Yesterday was Claire's final soccer game of the season. Although the "Bugs" did not exactly accumulate the most wins (not that anyone was keeping score), they had a great time learning the game and making new friends. At the end of the final game, the kids were each awarded a trophy. Claire is very proud of that trophy, and she is sure to show it to everyone!
