The Fresh Beat Band!!

Intermission Smoothies

Last night we saw The Fresh Beat Band live and in concert! For those of you who are not familiar, The Fresh Beat Band has a show on Nickelodeon, and let me tell you, the concert did not disappoint. It was so much fun!! The whole family [well, maybe not Jeremy ;)] was dancing and singing along. Loved it!

Gymnastics, Party of Two

The face of pure joy. . .

Emma has been on the waiting list at Claire's gym for almost a year.  I was holding out for a class to come available at the same time as Claire's current class.  Finally, after much patience, Emma had her first gymnastics class today.  She was so excited!!

Emma Moments

I came across a few random pictures of Emma that I wanted to share.  Our "baby" is almost four years old, and she keeps us busy and entertained!

Emma meeting her newest friend, Kathryn, for the first time. . .

When we go to the hands-on science center, building with blocks has become one of Emma's favorite things to do.  She loves when we work together to create a "masterpiece".

In true Emma fashion, when I asked her to give me a thumbs-up, this is what I got in return. . .

This and her trademark grin and giggle. :)

Crawfish Boil

The kids had fun torturing, I mean playing with, the live crawfish.

 The end result. . .

Yesterday evening, some friends of ours were kind enough to host our Sunday school class for a crawfish boil.  The kids were highly entertained by the baby pool full of live crawfish that had yet to be cooked.  Those poor things had no idea that the best part of their day was the escape from that pool into the boiling water that awaited.  Tortured or not, they were yummy!

Spring Fling

Ever so carefully choosing their prizes. . .

Ivey & Emma

Last Friday, Emma had her school Spring Fling. It was a fun morning full of games and prizes. I enjoyed spending some special one-on-one time with Emma, and was almost brought to tears when she said that her favorite part of the Spring Fling was me being there. Sadly, I know that there will come a day (hopefully, a long time from now) when this will not be the case. So, for now, I will relish in my joy - and document it permanently for all to see. :)

Easter Weekend

Dyeing Eggs

Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Must.Eat.Candy.

Sisters - along with my niece due in August!!

Easter Morning

Where did that bunny put Owen's basket?

There it is!

Claire was excited about having candy for breakfast. . .

We had a great Easter weekend. My sister and her family came into town, and we stayed busy with Easter festivities and the consumption of sweets. Saturday afternoon, after an Easter "dunch" feast, we went to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Sunday morning we enjoyed the service at our church followed by brunch at Brio. As you might imagine, the weekend ended with happy hearts and full bellies!!

Spelunking Anyone?

Can you see the bunny?

You can definitely see this baby bat!

This week, I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with Claire's class. We took a little trip to some caverns located not too far from where we live. I had never been there, so it was pretty interesting. Hiking over 100 feet underground is not something I would choose to do often, but it was fun to see most of the kids experience it for the first time.

Emma's Dance Picture Day

Emma had her first dance pictures taken today. Her entire class was as cute as they could be, and Emma was excited beyond words. She loves getting to do things like big sister Claire!
