Mardi Gras in Mobile

Claire & Aunt Kathryn
Forget the beads - Claire was all about the candy!!
I don't know who this man was, but he marched as if he were a true Mardi Gras legend. . .
Emma's favorite catch of the day. . .
NeNe and Bo were on the top of this float in the Krewe de Bienville parade. . .
Here they come!
Claire's favorite catches. . .
Mystics of Time Parade
Robert & Niki joined us!
Jeremy's friend, Bryan, rode in the Mystics of Time parade. This picture was taken right about the time he found us. . .

This past weekend we made it down to Mobile for the last weekend of the Mardi Gras season. We spent all day Sunday (Joe Cain Day) at the parades. It was the first time to experience a Mardi Gras parade for both girls, and they had so much fun. They especially enjoyed seeing Jeremy's parents, NeNe and Bo, riding on one of the floats. It rained stuffed animals, beads, and moon pies!!!

Sugar High 2012

Breakfast of champions - Emma working on a chewy candy. . .
Emma's class had an ice cream party to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Then, we made our way over to Claire's school for her class party. . .
Claire came home and got right to work on organizing her valentines. . .

Oh, Valentine's Day, how this sweet-toothed family loves thee. I mean, who doesn't love waking to a box of chocolates? The girls both had a sugar-filled day with school parties and valentines galore. Love and cavities were in the air!

Race Day!

And they're off!
Rounding the corner to the finish line. . .
Yay Claire!!
Emma is most definitely a southern child. The cold winds were too much for her, and she wanted to go home the entire time. This picture pretty much sums up her love for race day.
Caroline & Claire

Claire finished her second marathon today! She has been keeping up with her miles at school, and ran the final mile with Jeremy in the Kids Mercedes Marathon today. Of course, today also had to be the first day that it actually felt like winter. It was chilly and windy in the 30's, but it was a fun day!
