Just Chillin'

Here are couple of pictures from the playroom the other day. One is a great shot of Emma's 3 teeth and her cool shades, and the other is of Claire feeding Emma some Cheerios. Claire likes to have control of the snack bowl, so that she can pick out all of Emma's star puffs.

Think Pink

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival has begun. Yesterday, we decided to make a fun afternoon of it by going to the parade downtown, and then on to the park to ride some rides. Both girls were fascinated by the parade. Emma remained quite serious as she soaked in all of the new sights and sounds, and Claire was happy as a lark with her bag of cotton candy. The fact that the cherry blossoms are really starting to pop right now was just icing on the cake!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Jeremy is officially 33! Claire and I baked up a yummy Red Velvet cake to help him celebrate. The cake was looking real handsome until I put my handwriting on it. You also may be asking, "Why pink icing?" Well, lets just say that was one issue that Claire was not going to budge on. She just knew that she (I mean, Daddy) wanted pink icing on the cake.

Wearing Dinner

It is a good thing that tonight was bath night for Emma. She was such a mess after dinner that a mere moist towelette would not have come close to getting the cleaning job done. She even had food in her hair! Emma sure loves to dive into food and feed herself these days.

Princess Party

Yesterday, Claire attended a neighbor's princess birthday party. All of the little girls played so well together, and they were thrilled when Sleeping Beauty came to join in on the fun. They even got to decorate their own magic wands. Claire was so excited about it all that she stayed in costume the entire day.
Emma seemed to like watching Claire prance around as Cinderella as well. In the above pictures, you can see Claire waking her up from nap when she got home from the party. It was definitely something fun to wake up to!
On an interesting side note, the neighbors that held the party actually moved in down the street from us a few months ago from our old neighborhood in Birmingham. We had never even met before! They are big Alabama fans, but we are still accepting of them. :)

Window Washer

I have a new way to wash my windows - Emma! She thinks it is fun to lick our back door. I just love watching her drool run down the glass.

Beautiful, Magical SNOW!!!

Considering that it has been years since we have seen snow while at home, watching the snow fall outside of our windows yesterday not only seemed like a miracle, but quite magical as well. Poor Claire has been looking for snow ever since Christmas. After watching shows and reading books with children playing in the snow around the holidays, one of the first things Claire asked Christmas morning was, "Where is the snow?" It was kind of hard to break her heart and explain to her that it is too warm where we live for snow. So, as you can imagine, she was thrilled when we woke her up early from a nap (it had to of been good for that!) to see the winter wonderland outside. Interestingly enough, she said, "I need a Christmas tree."
We had so much fun playing outside. I have never seen so many children out in their yards at one time. Emma was able to join the fun for a quick little snow experience. She was quite perplexed by the falling snow, but she thoroughly enjoyed sucking it off of her mittens.
We ended the day with hot chocolate, "breakfast for dinner", and a movie. I love a good snow day!
*Please note that the post before this shows what Claire was wearing outside yesterday. What a difference a day makes!

Flower Child

Our neighbor had a birthday party yesterday, and Claire had a blast. After the party was long over, Claire and the neighbors played outside for hours. I captured this picture as she was running back out after a potty break. The head wreath was just too funny for me. The heels for outdoor play were a nice added touch.
I think more noteworthy than anything is the fact that yesterday it was in the 70's outside, and today we are hearing rumors of possible snow flurries. Crazy!!

Bruiser

Emma loves to get up and go these days. She has definitely mastered crawling with speed, but still has issues with the occasional fall. Yesterday, she added a new bruise to her forehead. She was actually trying to crawl up my leg at the time, slipped, and fell forehead first on the hardwood floors. Ouch! Is it too late for me to buy her a helmet?

Bedtime Story

Here is a picture of Jeremy reading "The Going to Bed Book" to his girls last night. Amazingly, they were both interested at the same time!
